The Eastern International Region
The EIR is one of the regions of the American Academy of Religion, bringing together scholars, graduate students, and undergraduates working across religious studies and theology. The annual meeting is a welcoming venue for presenting new research, testing ideas, and building community across institutions.
Our hosts
The 2027 meeting is hosted jointly by the University of Waterloo and Wilfrid Laurier University, neighbouring institutions in Waterloo, Ontario.
